Arsene Wenger hails Aaron Ramsey after Chelsea draw
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has heaped praise on Aaron Ramsey after his standout performance in the 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
The Wales international had a commanding presence over the likes of N'Golo Kante and Cesc Fabregas as the Gunners clinched their first point in six attempts at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal were humbled by a 4-0 scoreline at Anfield a couple of weeks ago, but they looked more assured against the Premier League champions with Ramsey leading the way.
Speaking after the game, Wenger was full of praise for his midfielder, who he feels was unlucky to have not found the scoresheet. The long-standing manager also hailed the club's attitude on the pitch as they provided a good response against one of the title favourites.
"[Ramsey] was [magnificent]. I think Aaron has character, he doesn't hide in big games and he has shown that today again. He was unlucky not to score," he said, as per ESPN.
"We needed a good response from them today and I must say individually they all did very well. We had good character all over the pitch and a very good team attitude."
Wenger will be expected to rotate his squad once again in midweek when they host League One side Doncaster Rovers in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
The likes of Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud could get another opportunity to feature from the off following their cameo appearance in the goalless draw in west London.
