Arsenal's Olivier Giroud could join EPL rival for £40m in January
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud could reportedly be offered an escape route to Everton during the winter transfer window. The France international had been the subject of a £20m bid from the Toffees in the summer, but a deal never materialised.
Giroud managed just 11 starts in the Premier League last term, and this led to suggestions that he could pursue a fresh challenge in the summer in order to maintain his France spot.
However, the Frenchman surprisingly stayed put at the Emirates with the view to fighting for his first-team spot alongside the likes of Danny Welbeck and Alexandre Lacazette.
According to The Mirror, Toffees boss Ronald Koeman will return with an improved £40m offer for Giroud in the New Year, and he is confident that a deal will be struck between both clubs.
Giroud is currently preferred ahead of Alexandre Lacazette and Kylian Mbappe in the France frontline and he is aware that his reduced playing time could hinder his starting chances.
The Frenchman, who has yet to start a league game this term, is currently on 99 goals across all competitions for the north London giants. He is likely to feature against West Bromwich Albion on Monday night.
