Arsene Wenger updates on January transfer plans

Arsene Wenger unsure of winter transfer business

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that he 'does not know' whether he will bring in new recruits during the winter transfer window.

The likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are expected to leave the Emirates next summer, and this has led to suggestions that the Gunners could be active at the turn of the year.

However, Wenger has stressed that he already has a big squad to work with, and he intends to keep the squad intact rather than pursuing new signings.

"No. At the moment I have a big squad. The problem for me is to keep everyone together until the end of the season," Wenger told reporters, as per ESPN. "Do we go into the transfer market in January? I don't know yet."

Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac were the Gunners' only signings during the summer transfer window, but the pair have already hit their heights in their respective roles.

French striker Lacazette has notched five goals in his opening 10 league games for Arsenal whilst Kolasinac has been equally successful at left wing-back with one goal and three assists.
