Morata on the move?

Spain international Alvaro Morata has been linked with a surprise return to Real Madrid from Chelsea at the end of the campaign.

The 25-year-old has netted just 13 times in all competitions since his club-record move to Stamford Bridge last summer, and this has spread speculation that the Blues may recruit another marksman in their ranks.

According to Don Balon, Morata could be offered a surprise return to Madrid for a third stint with Los Blancos seemingly on the search for a new centre-forward.

Owing to Karim Benzema's average season, Real president Florentino Perez has intensified the search for a new striker, and Morata has been identified as an alternative to Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.

Morata previously returned to the European champions from Juventus during the summer of 2014, and though, he was a regular substitute, the Spaniard managed to score more than 20 goals in all competitions.

Chelsea host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League later this afternoon, and Morata may get the nod over Olivier Giroud to lead the line in the London derby.
