Arsene Wenger reveals whether Alexandre Lacazette will start against CSKA Moscow
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has dropped an update on Alexandre Lacazette prior to tomorrow's Europa League quarter-final first-leg against CSKA Moscow.
Earlier in February, Lacazette had to undergo an urgent surgery for a swelling on his left knee, but the France international made a strong comeback against Stoke City last weekend.
Lacazette scored off the penalty spot during his 30th-minute appearance for the Gunners, and Wenger has now confirmed that the 26-year-old could lead the line from the off on Thursday.
"Lacazette is ready to start, yes. I have not decided he will start but he is available and ready to start," he is quoted as saying on the club's website, prior to the Europa League game.
Lacazette has not made a single appearance in Europe this term, but with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ineligible to feature, he is likely to start upfront ahead of Danny Welbeck, who did a credible job versus AC Milan.
