Chelsea midfielder on West Ham United radar
West Ham United could reportedly be prepared to offer an escape route to Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater at the end of the season.
The England international joined the Blues from Leicester City during the dying stages of the summer transfer window, and he has since managed just five starts in the Premier League.
According to The Sun, the Hammers are keen on bringing Leicester City's Eduardo Macia on board as their director of football, and this may enhance their chances of pursuing Drinkwater.
Drinkwater was expected to rekindle his partnership with N'Golo Kante at Stamford Bridge, but his injury concerns and limited gametime have hampered his chances of establishing himself.
He is currently sidelined with a groin problem sustained in first-team training, and this could potentially see him miss the rest of the month, as per Antonio Conte.
Aside from Drinkwater, the Hammers are also looking into a Bosman move for Arsenal contract rebel Jack Wilshere, though Everton are reported to be leading the race for his signature.
