Atletico Madrid to re-sign Sergio Aguero?
Atletico Madrid have reportedly contacted the representative of Sergio Aguero over a possible return to Spain during the summer transfer window.
The 29-year-old left the Spanish outfit to join Manchester City back in the summer of 2011 and he has since gone on to become their all-time scorer with 199 goals across all competitions.
Aguero has previously indicated that he could be tempted by a return to Argentina in 2020, but according to Marca, Atleti have expressed an interest in signing him this summer.
The Madrid giants are expecting the departure of Antoine Griezmann during the upcoming transfer window with Barcelona interested and they are seemingly prepared to pair Aguero alongside ex-teammate Diego Costa.
Aguero recently underwent a surgery on a knee problem sustained during the Champions League quarter-final defeat to Liverpool and this has ruled him out for the rest of the season.
He is still expected to play a leading role for Argentina at the World Cup where they seek to go one better than the previous tournament where they finished second to Germany.
