Rafael Benitez interested in West Ham United job?
Rafael Benitez is reportedly considering the prospect of swapping Newcastle United for fellow Premier League club West Ham United this month.
The 58-year-old did exceptionally well to keep the Magpies in the top-flight on a limited budget but he is now said to be weighing up his future.
Benitez has expressed his disappointment over the lack of financial support from owner Mike Ashley and he could now be tempted to pursue a new challenge.
According to Evening Standard, the Hammers have a good chance of landing the former Liverpool head coach, provided they can meet his demands as well as pay off a £6m compensation fee.
Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg are also understood to have made an approach for Benitez, but the Spaniard is supposedly keen on staying in the top-flight.
Earlier this week, West Ham United released David Moyes after the conclusion of his short-term contract and they are expected to name a new head coach within the next nine days.
