Steve Bruce drops update on John Terry's future
Steve Bruce drops update on John Terry's future
Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is unsure whether John Terry will extend his contract after their failure to clinch promotion to the Premier League.
Speaking to reporters, Bruce could not confirm whether Terry would prolong his stay beyond the summer, he said: "I think that is the question for everybody, John's future. That will depend on John."
Terry had the option of a one-year extension clause, had Villa been promoted to the top-flight, but with the club failing to do so, he could leave the Villains during the summer.
The veteran has been taking his coaching badges over the past year and he could probably announce his retirement from his playing career in order to step into a new phase.
Meanwhile, Fulham returned to the Premier League in Villa's expense last weekend and the Cottagers will now be hoping to keep hold of several key players, who are attracting big club interest.
