Wolves monitoring Ethiopian star Getaneh Kebede
Newly promoted Premier League side Wolves have deployed a scout to monitor the progress of Ethiopian international striker Getaneh Kebede. The forward, aged 26, currently plays for Debedit and has a prolific goalscoring record in his home country.
Wolves are looking to add attacking mettle to their squad in preparation for their first season back in England's top flight and have been monitoring the progress of Kebede for some time.
Kebede has scored 21 goals in 34 games for his country and made his debut back in 2011, playing for his national team in a 2014 World Cup qualifying match.
The forward has long been expected to eventually make the step up to Europe, a stage where few Ethiopian players have been able to make the grade. However, there are high hopes for Kebede and it is understood Wolverhampton Wanderers will pay up to $4 million to take a punt on the talented striker.
Wolves will beat numerous teams to Kebede's signature, with French club Lille and Spanish side Real Sociedad amongst the teams interested in the player.
