Yorke wants Bale at Manchester United

Manchester United favourite Dwight Yorke has urged the club's hierarchy to make a move for Real Madrid's Gareth Bale during the ongoing transfer window.

The Wales international issued a come-and-get-me-plea shortly after his heroics in the Champions League final triumph over Liverpool but the speculation over his future has since cooled with Zidane's exit.

Bale could not quite convince Zidane to start him regularly from the starting lineup but with a new manager now at the helm, he may decide to stay put with the club.

Nevertheless, Yorke has urged United to make a bid for the Welshman, who could be the perfect fight on the right side of the attack, he told 888 Sport: "United and Jose don't need to look at the World Cup. No player suits us more than Gareth Bale.

"Yes there will always be some exciting candidates to look at but Bale is someone who excites me. He is the right age, in his prime, and will be the perfect addition."

United manager Jose Mourinho is presently busy with his punditry duties with RT Sport at the summer World Cup where he heaped praise on Aleksandr Golovin for his stellar showing versus Saudi Arabia.

The Russian has been regarded as the poster boy for his nation, and he did not disappoint in the opener with two assists and an impressive free kick goal to his name.
