Real Madrid plan to discuss Lukaku-Ronaldo swap

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to sanction Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United this summer, provided they are offered Romelu Lukaku in a part-exchange deal.

The European champions are presently on the hunt for a prolific striker with Karim Benzema underperforming through the previous campaign and Madrid chiefs appear to have earmarked Lukaku as their prime target.

According to Diario Gol, the Madrid giants are planning a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku this summer which may include Ronaldo as a makeweight in addition to a £44m fee.

Despite this, United may be reluctant to discuss any kind of deal for the Belgium international, who notched 29 goals during his debut season with the club last term.

Moreover, it is suggested that Jose Mourinho has no plans to rebuild the attack in the current transfer window and losing a player of Lukaku's calibre is certainly not in their plans.
