Manchester United given green light to sign Serbian midfielder

Manchester United have been given the go ahead to sign Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to Tuttosport.

United are interested in the Lazio midfielder who caught attention at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Juventus who were interested in the player have reportedly pulled out clearing the way for United to get their man.

After Serbia's World Cup exit, the player had said that he will decide his future after the post World Cup holiday.

United have already completed the signing of Fred and have given Marouane Fellaini a new two years contract. United still boast of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera, and Juan Mata.

With the likes of Herrera and Fellaini not playing regularly, it remains to be seen how Milinkovic-Savic will fit in and play regularly.

Jose Mourinho may just be looking to offload some midfielders with Herrera recently linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

The coming weeks will unravel a lot regarding Jose Mourinho's plans for the United midfield ahead of next season.
