Liverpool's Oxlade-Chamberlain likely to miss entire season
Liverpool have suffered a significant blow to their plans for the 2018/19 season after manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may miss the entire campaign.
The England international suffered multiple knee ligament damage during a Champions League tie against AS Roma in April and the Reds thereafter confirmed that he had been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.
However, Klopp has now disclosed the injury is indeed serious and Oxlade-Chamberlain could spend the entirety of the 2018/19 campaign in rehabilitation and recovery.
Despite the setback, Liverpool are well covered in the midfield with Naby Keita and Fabinho brought in to bolster the ranks whilst Xherdan Shaqiri can also feature in the first XI, should the Reds require an additional attacker.
Liverpool are presently preparing for their friendly against Blackburn Rovers after which they are expected to travel to the United States for the second half of their pre-season schedule.
