Arsenal move for Bundesliga goalkeeper
Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Borussia Monchengladbach to sign goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
According to the Sunday Mirror, the talks are at an advanced stage between the sides amid the additional interest shown by Barcelona.
Arsenal have already completed the signing of German goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen and it is expected that the former VfB Stuttgart stopper will be Unai Emery's first choice when the new Premier League season begins in August.
This could mean that the Gunners are preparing a replacement for Petr Cech who has been linked with a move to former club Chelsea.
Barcelona are also looking to bring in Sommer with Jasper Cillesen close to an exit from the Nou Camp.
Sommer has been a regular for Gladbach in recent seasons and made 30 Bundesliga appearances last season.
He was also part of the Switzerland national team at the World Cup, making four appearances in Russia.
It remains to be seen if a breakthrough can be found, given Sommer may not want to warm the substitutes' bench with his next big challenge.
