Manchester United have made contact with the representatives of Eintracht Frankfurt player Ante Rebic over a possible transfer to Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.

The Croatian international has been linked with a move to Old Trafford after having a great performance at the World Cup in Russia, helping his country reach their first ever final.

According to reports, United were preparing a £44m bid for the former Fiorentina player to come to the 13-time Premier League champions.

The 24-year-old can play on the left wing and could be a replacement for Anthony Martial who could leave Jose Mourinho's side after three years at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are willing to sell Martial, but will not accept any amount lower than £70m or sell to any Premier League rival.

Manchester United are currently on tour in the United States and defeated 7-time UEFA Champions League winners AC Milan on penalties in the International Champions Cup in the early hours of Thursday morning.
