Lyon are interested in signing Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof, according to L’Equipe.

Lindelof moved to United from Benfica for £35m in the summer of 2017 but has been unable to nail down a regular place in central defence.

He made only 17 Premier League appearances last season but was part of the Sweden squad at the World Cup where he did quite well before they were knocked stage by England.

According to the Metro, manager Jose Mourinho is not willing to sell the defender despite the fact that United already boast of four other central defenders. United are also going for another central defender, although they are looking to offload one to make room for the new signing.

Marcos Rojo and not Lindelof has been tipped to leave United with Wolves reportedly interested in the Argentine. United have also been linked with Leicester City's Harry Maguire and FC Barcelona's Yerry Mina as Mourinho looks to strengthen his squad.
