Sanchez expresses disappointment over United's summer business

Chile international Alexis Sanchez has admitted that he is disappointed by Manchester United's transfer business and he would have preferred 'more world-class players' joining the club.

United have made only three signings in the form of Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant this summer but only the latter is expected to play a dominant role during the 2018/19 campaign.

As a result, Sanchez has admitted a sense of disappointment, though he remains content with the decision of the club, he told ESPN: "I would have liked that they had signed many more world-class players. But it's the club's decision."

Throughout the summer, United have been on the search for a new central defender but their approach appears likely to go in vain as they are no closer to signing anyone before the deadline.

Manchester United begin their Premier League campaign with a home game against Leicester City on Friday night and Jose Mourinho will be keen to start the season on a strong note.
