Eric Dier: We are going to enjoy the challenge of shutting everyone up
Tottenham Hotspur player Eric Dier has said that the North London side have an enormous challenge to shut up doubters.
Tottenham Hotspur failed to make any signing during the transfer window in England, and a section of fans have not given them a chance to do well this season.
According to the Times, he said the following: “It’s a great challenge for us to shut everyone up. We’re going to enjoy that challenge. We’ve got a fantastic squad here, with fantastic players in every position."
It is the usual character of fans and pundits to doubt the capability of a team if the 'right' signings are not made, so it should be expected that a good number of them won't give a chance to a side that made none at all.
Tottenham Hotspur finished third in the Premier League last season, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League as a result.
They have started the current campaign on a good note, defeating Newcastle United by two goals to one in their opening game over the weekend.
