Liverpool prepared to sanction defender sale
Liverpool are reportedly willing to part ways with defender Ragnar Klavan before the close of the summer transfer window across Europe.
The 32-year-old is presently behind Virgil van Dijk, Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez in the pecking order at Anfield and the Reds are prepared to entertain his sale before the transfer deadline overseas.
According to The Liverpool Echo, both Lovren and Matip are expected to return from their respective injuries in the coming weeks and this has opened the door for Klavan to pursue a fresh challenge.
The Reds are said to have turned an approach from Newcastle United before the English transfer deadline but they are now willing to sanction the defender's sale amid interest from several Bundesliga clubs.
Klavan joined the Reds from German side Augsburg in the summer of 2016 and he has since made 53 appearances across all competitions. His current deal expires at the end of the ongoing campaign.
