Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has put into consideration a possible move to Italian side Inter Milan.

According to his agent, Marko Naletilic, Inter have tried signing the player, who joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2012 and the player is interested in playing in Italy at some point.

“For whatever reason, Modric wants to be a star in Serie A with Inter. Let’s see. I believe that sooner or later Luka will play in Italy," he told Tuttosport.

With the transfer window in Italy ending by Friday, there is increasingly a lack of time for the World Cup finalist to complete a switch to Italy. If a move is completed, it could be a signal that a new wave of stars will be heading to Italian football.

Unlike in the 2000s, Italian football has suffered from a lack of top talents in recent times and the movement of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus this summer will do little to change that, but it will definitely attract more attention to the Serie A.
