Arsenal midfielder heading for Marseille move?

Mohamed Elneny news

Elneny on Marseille radar

French side Marseille are reportedly looking into a deal for Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny before their transfer window closes this month.

The Egypt international only penned a new long-term contract with the Gunners in March but his future has come under question amid the arrivals of Mateo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira.

According to The Mirror, Les Phoceens are keeping tabs on the midfielder's situation and they could pounce on his services before the French transfer deadline.

Elneny was an unused substitute during the opening day defeat to Manchester City where Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey, Guendouzi and Torreira were among those, who commanded gametime.

Aside from Elneny, the likes of Carl Jenkinson, Joel Campbell and David Ospina have been backed to head through the exit door with the latter presently the subject of interest from Besiktas.

Arsenal produced a rather disappointing performance during their opening day defeat to the Citizens but they should be aiming for a better showing during next weekend's cross-town derby versus Chelsea.
