Jack Wilshere aiming to 'prove a point' against Arsenal

England international Jack Wilshere is aiming to prove a point to Arsenal when he makes the trip to the Emirates Stadium in a West Ham United shirt this weekend.
The 26-year-old ended his 17-year association with the Gunners earlier in the summer after he was not assured of regular gametime and he has since moved across London to join the Hammers.
Wilshere has not had the best of starts in the Hammers shirt with the team succumbing to back-to-back defeats but speaking ahead of the north London trip, he has admitted that he is keen to prove himself against his ex-employers.
"It'll be a strange one for me as I was never able to go there and play when I went out on loan as you can play against your parent club, but it's one I'm looking forward to. It's down to me to prove a point to Arsenal that they were wrong to get rid of me," he told West Ham's official matchday programme.
Like West Ham, Arsenal have made a poor start to the season with back-to-back defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea and they go into the weekend clash with the home advantage by their side.
Unai Emery's team could have quite easily finished the game off against Chelsea last weekend but they were guilty of missing several clear-cut chances which in the end cost them in the form of a 3-2 defeat.
