Tottenham made enquiry about two Manchester United players
Tottenham Hotspur made an enquiry about the possible movement of two Manchester United players during the transfer window.
According to Manchester Evening News, the players are believed to be Anthony Martial and Juan Mata but United were not interested in doing business.
Martial's agent had revealed during the summer transfer window that his client wanted to leave Old Trafford but a move failed to materialise.
At a point in the summer, it was reported that United were willing to sell but not to a Premier League rival.
Tottenham fall into that category having finished third in the Premier League last season and started better than United this term.
The two sides will face each other in the league on Monday night with Spurs looking to make it three wins in a row.
Manchester United are in desperate need of a win with the club troubled after their 3-2 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion in the second game of the season.
