Courtois sad over Chelsea fans' anger
Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has expressed sadness over Chelsea fans' anger over his departure.
The Belgian completed a move to Real Madrid in the just concluded summer transfer window, a decision that has angered Chelsea fans.
One of the main reasons Courtois moved to Real was because his family resides in Madrid and he wanted to be close to them.
He said he made the decision to leave the Blues in March, before the end of last season.
"It makes me feel sad and obviously they don't know all the truth," he said, Sky Sports reports. "I think in March the decision was already made and I thought the club would accept it."
He played 154 games for Chelsea during his time at Stamford Bridge, but has made just one La Liga appearance for Real Madrid since his move. He did so in a 4-1 win over Leganes just before the international break.
His other competitor at the Bernabeu, Keylor Navas has made two league appearances this term and they came prior to Courtois' debut against Leganes.
