Fabregas: It would be difficult to keep Hazard
Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes it would be difficult keeping Eden Hazard should he want to leave next season.
Hazard is in his penultimate year of his current Chelsea deal, and was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid during the last transfer window.
The former Arsenal midfielder said that it was difficult for the Belgian to move during the last summer transfer window because he had two years left in his deal.
With the winger not eager to sign a new deal, Fabregas believes that keeping Hazard after this season will be difficult because only a year will be remaining in his current deal next summer.
“Next year if he has one year left, that’s a different story. You don’t have as much power as a club. Eden is one of the best players in the world," he said, the Evening Standard reports.
Hazard has been in terrific form for Maurizio Sarri this season having scored five goals and provided two assists in the Premier League so far.
He also scored a wonder goal as Chelsea defeated Liverpool 2-1 in the Third Round of the League Cup on Wednesday.
