Liverpool boss unhappy with Xherdan Shaqiri for his decision-making

Klopp not impressed with Shaqiri's decision-making

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has indicated that he was not pleased with the decision-making of Xherdan Shaqiri and this was the prime reason behind him exchanging words with the Swiss following the League Cup third round defeat to Chelsea.

The Reds appeared favourites to reach the next round of the League Cup after bagging the opener via Daniel Sturridge but they witnessed a late fightback from the Blues which saw Emerson and Eden Hazard find the scoresheet.

Speaking after the game, Klopp indicated that he had nothing personal with Shaqiri but suggested that the Swiss could have done much better with the free-kick in added time where Mohamed Salah was free on one side of the pitch.

He added that the club's summer signing could have finished the game at 1-0 where he had a clean sight at goal and the attacker may have the reason as to why he decided against testing the opposition keeper.

The defeat against Maurizio Sarri's side was the first for the Reds since the new season started but they have the opportunity to quickly avenge the loss when they make the trip to Stamford Bridge to face the Blues in the Premier League this weekend.
