West Ham United win the race to sign Miguel Almiron

West Ham United are deemed to have beaten the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Atlanta United playmaker Miguel Almiron in January.
The Paraguay international has experienced a strong MLS season with 12 goals and 13 assists from just 32 appearances and his form had recently caught the eye of Arsenal and Spurs.
However, according to Ultima Hora, the Hammers are understood to have swooped for the attacker ahead of their cross-town rivals after agreeing on a fee which could rise to around £22m.
The Hammers had spent over £100m during the summer to bolster the different areas of the squad but so far, this has not quite worked out with key injuries along the way.
Andriy Yarmolenko is one among the players, who is expected to be sidelined for the long-term and Almiron could ideally replace the Ukrainian as he is capable of playing anywhere across the attack front.
