Jose Mourinho keen on landing Belgian midfielder
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on acquiring the signature of Belgium midfielder Axel Witsel from Borussia Dortmund next summer.
The Belgium international only joined Dortmund from Chinese side Tianjin Quanjian last summer but it appears that he could be on the move after just one campaign.
According to ESPN, Mourinho is unsure about the positions of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba beyond the current season and this may witness United make an approach for Witsel, who the Portuguese believes can offer something different.
United have experienced their worst-ever start to a Premier League season this term and they are currently seven points adrift of the top four after the opening 13 matches.
Amidst this, Mourinho has regularly put the blame on the players for the recent run of results and it remains to be seen whether the club would continue under his management for an extended period, should the results not go their way.
