West Ham United to sign Manchester United defender on a free?

West Ham United could reportedly pounce on the signature of Manchester United right-back Antonio Valencia when the current season comes to a close.

The Ecuador international has managed to make just one appearance for United since early October and he was only an unused substitute during the 2-2 league draw against Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Amidst this, there are already reports indicating that the defender no longer sees face-to-face with manager Jose Mourinho and The Sun indicates that he could part ways with the club when his contract expires next summer.

It is added that the Hammers are likely to be among the favourites to land the former Wigan Athletic man with Pablo Zabaleta pondering over a fresh challenge away from the London Stadium.

On Wednesday night, young defender Diogo Dalot was handed his maiden Premier League start ahead of Valencia and the Portuguese could have a bright future ahead of him, provided he can put in consistent performances.
