Chelsea boss wants reunion with Napoli forward
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is reportedly hopeful of reuniting with Napoli forward Dries Mertens in either January or at the end of the season.
The Belgium international was transformed into a regular centre-forward from a winger under the tutelage of Sarri last term and he has since played a direct part in 35 league goals for the Naples outfit.
Due to this, Mertens recently thanked his former head coach for converting him into one of Europe's hottest talents and Calciomercato claims that the pair could be reunited at Stamford Bridge in the near future.
Sarri has utilised the services of Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud upfront during the ongoing campaign but neither has sufficiently impressed with just six league goals between them.
Chelsea already have a good association with Napoli after agreeing upon a deal for Jorginho during the summer but it remains to be seen whether the Italian side would consider a mid-season sale for another of their prizes assets.
