Manchester City have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race to sign Federico Chiesa from Fiorentina at the end of the ongoing campaign.

The Italian is regarded as one of the league's most promising players and he has already contributed 20 goals and 21 assists since making his first-team debut three years ago.

According to Tuttosport, Citizens boss Pep Guardiola remains a keen admirer of the Italy international, who has previously caught the radar of the likes of Liverpool and Inter Milan.

However, they are likely to witness a transfer tussle with cross-town rivals United, who are on the search for an effective option on the right side of the attack.

United have utilised the likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata but none of them have sufficiently impressed from that side of the field.

Manchester City, on the other hand, have sufficient attacking options on both wings but Guardiola is keen to bolster the squad further to maintain a high level of consistency in terms of the performance.
