United far off from agreeing De Gea extension

Manchester United are reportedly reluctant to meet the contract demands of David de Gea despite his contract due to expire in 15 months' time.

The Spaniard has been holding out for a £350,000-a-week at Old Trafford which would make him the second-highest paid player at the club behind Alexis Sanchez.

According to Evening Standard, the former Atletico Madrid graduate has already mentioned his demands to the club's hierarchy but he has yet to receive a positive response regarding the same.

It is added that the club are unlikely to change their stance in the near future and this could mean that De Gea could potentially be sold when he enters the final year of his contract in the summer.

De Gea has produced a mixed bag in terms of performances this term and he was most recently at fault for Arsenal's opening goal during United's 2-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

De Gea has been linked with both Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain this term.
