Manchester United make transfer decision on Ivan Rakitic
Manchester United have reportedly cooled their impending interest in Barcelona's Ivan Rakitic following the form displayed by Paul Pogba since the turn of the year.
Pogba's career had been a main discussion point during the opening phase of the campaign where he struggled for consistency under ex-boss Jose Mourinho.
However, with the departure of the Portuguese, the Frenchman has managed to step up his game under interim head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he is presently on the in-form midfielders in Europe.
According to Standard Sport, the Red Devils have ended their long-term interest in Rakitic after witnessing the sparkling form of Pogba under their caretaker boss.
The publication adds that the club are no longer concerned with Pogba pushing for a summer departure and the focus could now lie on committing him to a new contract.
Meanwhile, Rakitic's future at the Camp Nou remains uncertain with the Catalan giants looking to sign another high-profile midfielder despite the recent capture of Frenkie de Jong from Ajax.
