Robert Pires urges Arsenal to sign Ligue 1 winger

Arsenal legend Robert Pires believes the Gunners should take the chance to sign Ismaila Sarr from Rennes when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.

The Senegal international has enjoyed a fantastic season with Rennes this term and he has already amassed 10 goals and eight assists across all competitions for the club.

Speaking to Sport24, Pires has advised the Gunners' hierarchy to consider a potential move for Sarr in the summer as he believes the winger can quickly adapt to the club's style of play.

"Ismaila Sarr? It would not hurt Arsenal to sign him, but I do not know his price [laughs]. ‘He has the profile to evolve at the Gunners. He would adapt quickly to the way of play wanted by Unai Emery," he said.

Sarr is capable of featuring across the attack from his time at Rennes but he has found much of his success in the right wing position. He recently scored against Arsenal in a 3-1 Rennes triumph in the Europa League.
