Chelsea manager drops update on N'Golo Kante's injury status
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has acknowledged that N'Golo Kante has suffered a hamstring problem which is likely to sideline him for the forthcoming games against Eintracht Frankfurt and Leicester City.
The France international picked up the injury with the opening 10 minutes of the Watford game and he was thereafter replaced with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who scored the opening goal in a 3-0 league triumph.
Speaking after the match, Sarri said that he should have rested the midfielder and the inability to do so has come at a price with the Frenchman sidelined for the next couple of games.
He told Sky Sports: "The problem is with his hamstring. But I made a mistake because, probably, he had to rest. Sometimes it's very difficult to put on the bench a player so important like Kante, but you have to do it."
Sarri has confirmed that the Frenchman will have a medical test to assess the severity of the problem and it remains to be seen whether he will make the squad, should the Blues reach the final of the Europa League.
