Leicester City to sign Ayoze Perez from Newcastle
Leicester City have agreed a shock move to sign Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez for a fee of £30 million. The Spanish forward, 25, has been with the Toon Army since 2014 and played in almost 200 games for the club.
It appears as if the Newcastle United exodus has begun, as coach Rafa Benitez departed St James' Park for a move to China, whilst Newcastle are now set to sell one of their star performers over the past two years in Perez.
The 25-year-old will agree a five-year contract at Leicester City and will become a pivotal part of the Foxes' attack under manager Brendan Rodgers.
Last season was Perez's best in the Premier League, with the former Tenerife player scoring 12 goals in 37 league games.
Perez joined Newcastle in a deal worth just £1.5 million and will represent a massive profit for the club, however is likely to add further fuel to the fire for Toon Army fans, who are already angry with club owner Mike Ashley. It is understood that Ashley personally pushed through the transfer of Perez to Leicester City.
