Arsenal end Yannick Carrasco pursuit
Arsenal have decided against making a renewed bid for Belgium international attacker Yannick Carrasco, having failed to agree transfer terms with the player's club. The Gunners have opted instead to make Wilfried Zaha their primary transfer target and are prepared to up their offer to £67.5 million to secure the Crystal Palace forward.
Carrasco had been constantly linked with a move away from China to England, but it appears as if Unai Emery has ended the club's interest in the Belgian star, having grown increasingly frustrated with the player's agent and club Dalian Yifang.
Arsenal have around £100 million to spend on new players this summer, but the Gunners must also sell in order to bring in transfer funds for fresh faces. Carrasco is now said to be very disappointed a projected transfer to Arsenal has fallen through, and could now be in line for a surprise return to Spain. Valencia and Villarreal are both amongst the teams who have expressed interest in the former Monaco and Atletico Madrid star.
