Emery responds to Aubameyang speculation
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has moved swiftly to dispel talk of a departure out of the Emirates Stadium for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The forward, who won the Premier League golden boot last season, has been linked with a return to Germany, where the Gabonese striker used to play for Borussia Dortmund.
The 30-year-old has struck up an excellent partnership with Alexandre Lacazette leading the line at Arsenal and is a firm fan favourite for the Gunners' faithful.
Unai Emery has reportedly been told that he is not allowed to sign new players unless he sells, and that is where the rumours of an imminent departure out of Arsenal has come from. The striker is said to be very happy at Arsenal.
Emery told reporters: "Not really in our mind. We are very happy with Aubameyang and we don’t want to sell him."
The striker has two years left on his current Arsenal deal and it is understood the club want to keep hold of the striker for a longer period of time.
