Victor Osimhen heading to the Premier League?

Lille striker Victor Osimhen could be offered a route to the Premier League through Newcastle United, who are keen on bolstering their strikeforce.

The Nigeria international joined the French outfit from Belgian side Charleroi during the summer and he has since been a revelation with eight goals and two assists across all competitions.

According to Chronicle Live, the Magpies have been keeping a close watch on the performances of the former Wolfsburg youngster and they could come up with an approach when the transfer window reopens.

Steve Bruce already has the likes of Joelinton and Andy Caroll to depend upfront but he is keen on pursuing a young and exciting option with Dwight Gayle likely to be offloaded at the turn of the year.

Osimhen has covered the burden of Nicolas Pepe's departure to Arsenal over the summer but the Nigerian still needs to find his feet especially away from home.

The 20-year-old has been the standout performer for the Ligue 1 side upfront but he has surprisingly failed to contribute a single goal on the road this season.
