French giants to sign Chelsea striker in January?

Giroud to Lyon?

Lyon have reportedly earmarked Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud as a transfer option ahead of the 2020 winter transfer window.

The Frenchman has been restricted to a bit-part role this term with Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi preferred ahead of him in the selection order.

According to Soccer Link, Les Gones are keeping a close eye on the player's developments and they could lodge an attempt to sign him when the transfer window reopens.

Giroud has been limited to just 212 minutes of competitive action under Frank Lampard this season and he has already admitted that he may assess his future in the New Year.

Manchester United have been touted to make a move for Lyon's Moussa Dembele in January and Giroud could end up as a direct replacement for his compatriot.

Giroud is unlikely to cost more than £5m and the sum should be easily recouped from Dembele's sale at the turn of the year. Les Gones are said to demand £40m for their marksman.
