Inter Milan want another Manchester United star in January
Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is reportedly keen on a reunion with Nemanja Matic, who has fallen down the selection order at Manchester United this term.
The Serbia international is currently regarded as the second choice behind Scott McTominay for the defensive midfield role and he has been restricted to just five appearances this term.
According to Sky Sports, Conte is eager to reunite with the Serbian, who was instrumental towards Chelsea's Premier League title triumph during the 2016/17 campaign.
Matic's current deal is due to expire at the end of the season but United are expected to trigger an extension clause such that his contract will be extended by another 12 months.
Hence, they are unlikely to offload the midfielder for nominal price and it remain to be seen whether the Nerazzurri are prepared to meet the player's valuation at the turn of the year.
Matic is currently sidelined through an injury and Solskjaer has yet to provide a suitable return date. Alongside Matic, Paul Pogba remain another midfield absentee for the club as he continues to recover from his ankle concern.
Inter have already signed Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez (on loan) from the Red Devils during the summer but the latter is out for the rest of the year after an ankle injury sustained on international duty.
