Unai Emery drops selection hint on Mesut Ozil
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has said that Mesut Ozil will be part of the travelling squad for the League Cup fourth round tie at Liverpool.
The German has been excluded from the matchday squad for six games on the bounce but he appears on course for a comeback against Jurgen Klopp's side.
Speaking in a press conference, Emery confirmed that Ozil is part of the group and indicated that the midfielder has the chance of taking the playing field at Anfield.
"Yes, tomorrow. He’s in the group so he has a chance to play. We need his quality, his skill and his consistency. We need his positive mentality and then he will help us on the pitch," he was quoted as saying by Arsenal.com.
Emery is likely to make numerous changes for the League Cup tie in Merseyside and that may start from the back where there could be a complete reshuffle.
The Gunners have not won in any competition against Liverpool over the past four years but they have another chance to end the dreadful run and progress to the last eight of the League Cup.
