Lampard confirms Rudiger and Kante won't play against United

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that Antonio Rudiger and N'Golo Kante are unavailable for the forthcoming League Cup fourth round tie against Manchester United.

Rudiger and Kante have recently returned to training after their respective injuries but Lampard is not prepared to risk them until they are fully match fit.

In a press conference covered by Football.London, Lampard confirmed that both Kante and Rudiger won't feature against the Red Devils and refused to mention a suitable date for their first-team comebacks.

Kante has already sustained multiple niggles since the start of the campaign and Lampard has recently stated that the Blues won't rush his return to the playing field.

Rudiger returned from a knee injury to make one appearance in September but he has since been out of contention following a groin problem. The German is likely to feature for the development side for a couple of games prior to his comeback.

Aside from the duo, Andreas Christensen and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are the other first-team stars, who are definitely out for the midweek League Cup clash at Stamford Bridge.
