Lampard sends warning to Man United

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has said that his team will be focused on registering a win when they face Manchester United in the League Cup fourth round tomorrow.

The west London giants suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to the Red Devils in the Premier League opener but they were the better side for nearly two-thirds of that game.

Speaking in a press conference, Lampard said that his side won't take the forthcoming game against the Red Devils lightly irrespective of the changes to the starting lineup.

"I won't take this game lightly even if I make changes. [The 4-0 defeat to United] feels a million miles away but I'm not disregarding it. They hurt us four times in a game we played particularly well in," he told Sky Sports.

The Blues are presently on a seven-match winning streak across all competitions and that sees them in the fourth position in the Premier League while topping their Champions League group.

The likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Cesar Azpilicueta could drop to the bench for the Cup tie with Lampard likely to offer opportunities to the fringe players such as Olivier Giroud, Pedro and Reece James.
