Barcelona chief hints at Lautaro Martinez transfer move
Barcelona director of football Eric Abidal has hinted that the club could make a move for striker Lautaro Martinez in the coming months. The Nou Camp giants are weighing up a 80 million euro transfer move for the Inter Milan attacker.
The 22-year-old striker - who has also caught the attention of Premier League trio Tottenham, Man City and Manchester United - is wanted by Barcelona as an eventual replacement for Uruguayan attacker Luis Suarez.
"He is a complete player, I think he is performing at a great level," said Barcelona's director of football Eric Abidal to the Mundo Deportivo. "He is a player we know, there are other players who also have a lot of quality.
"I know Barca, I know what adaptation is like, but I don't pay much attention to the player who plays every weekend, I look at others."
Martinez has scored 11 goals in 38 games for Inter Milan since his arrival in 2018 from Argentinian side Racing Club. For his country, Martinez has bagged 9 goals in 15 games since making his debut in 2018.
