Predicted ManUnited lineup vs Man City

Manchester United will be aiming to register back-to-back league wins for the first time this season when they face Manchester City on the road in tonight's derby clash.

The Red Devils are currently eight points off Chelsea in the race for the fourth spot but they have the chance to close the gap with the Blues succumbing to a defeat at Everton earlier in the day.

Solskjaer's side are unbeaten in the games against the big-six this term but none of their encounters have come on their travels. As such, they have a tough test on their hands at the Etihad Stadium tonight.

Formation: 4-3-3

Predicted Lineup:

David de Gea has been the undisputed pick in goal over the past eight years and he is expected to start between the sticks. The defence should remain the same from the midweek triumph over Tottenham. This means Ashley Young will lead the side and feature at left-back ahead of Brandon Williams and Luke Shaw due to his experience in the big games.

In the midfield, Scott McTominay and Fred were brilliant playing together against Spurs and the latter probably had one of his best performances as he topped the charts for the number of passes, touches and interceptions for the side. The duo could be accompanied by Andreas Pereira, who offers more on the defensive point of view when compared to the likes of Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard.

Further forward, Anthony Martial is unlikely to make the starting lineup after his return from a muscular problem but he may feature on the bench. Hence Daniel James and Marcus Rashford are likely to flank Mason Greenwood, who should earn his second straight league start. He has the chance to make a big name for himself with a strong performance in the Manchester derby on enemy territory.

Manchester United XI: David de Gea, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Ashley Young, Scott McTominay, Fred, Andreas Pereira, Daniel James, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood.
