Manchester City rival Barcelona for Serie A striker

According to Daily Mail, Manchester City have entered the transfer race with Barcelona for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, who is rated at €84m.

The Argentine prospect has been heavily linked with a move to Camp Nou following his string of wonderful displays in the ongoing Serie A campaign.

Cityzens cite the 22-year-old as the successor to Sergio Aguero whose contract is set to expire in 2021.

Forming a deadly combination with Romelu Lukaku in the attack, Martinez has garnered 13 goals and 3 assists for Antonio Conte’s side, who are now second in the Serie A table. He also had a great UCL campaign, scoring 5 goals in the group stage.

Pep Guardiola’s men are currently trailing Leicester City at third in the Premier League table following an uncharacteristic start to the season, where they have suffered four defeats inside 17 matches.

They will face Real Madrid in the UCL knockouts.
