It’s the halfway point of the Serie A season this weekend, but title contenders Juventus are already looking ahead to the summer with reports in Italy suggesting their number one target is young Italian international goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The 20-year-old has just over 12 months left on his current deal at AC Milan and The Old Lady are looking to use their excellent relationship with the players agent, Mino Raiola, to try to get the deal over the line ahead of next season.

Sportmediaset claims that the Bianconeri are ready to offer the custodian nine million euros a season to defect from one of their fiercest rivals, with Donnarumma currently earning six million a year with the Rossoneri. Last summer, sought after Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt surprisingly spurned the advances of Barcelona to head to Turin and its believed Raiola’s influence was the main reason behind his decision.

French superstar Paul Pogba, another player from the Raiola stable, is also on the Juventus wish-list having spent four successful seasons with the club between 2012 and 2016 before making a world-record return to Manchester United. Real Madrid however, remains firm favourites to secure his signature at the end of the current campaign.

Current Juventus number one Wojciech Szczesny has around 18 months to go on his current deal at the Allianz Stadium, but it’s unlikely, having taken over from the legendary Gianluigi Buffon that the Polish international will want to play second fiddle to the man most observers believe is the natural successor to sit on Buffon’s Italian throne.
