Barcelona eye Getafe's Angel Rodriguez as Dembele replacement
According to Daily Mail, Barcelona have identified Getafe striker Angel Rodriguez as the make-shift replacement for injured Ousmane Dembele.
The French winger has been hit with a hamstring injury which will keep him out of the action for a long time, at least for the rest of the season.
Following Dembele’s injury, Barca are devoid of attacking options as they are only left with Antoine Griezmann, Lionel Messi and Ansu Fati.
As a result, the Balugarana have identified Getafe frontman Angel Rodriguez as the emergency replacement for the 22-year-old.
The Catalans are allowed to bring in a replacement should the ex-Dortmund man get ruled out for five or more months. At the same time, the replacement should meet the criteria of being a La Liga player and not allowed to participate in UCL.
Angel Rodriguez has been in good form this season, scoring 9 goals in La Liga. He also scored three goals in the Europa League group stage.
The 32-year-old primarily plays as a centre-forward and has a contract with Getafe until the summer of 2021.
